Windrush Sunday Theme at One Fest

Windrush – Sunday Theme

A special Sunday tribute honouring the Windrush generation and their enduring contribution to British culture and community.

Sunday at One Fest is dedicated to the Windrush generation — the men and women who came to Britain from the Caribbean between 1948 and 1971, and whose contributions have shaped every aspect of British life, from the NHS to music, sport, food, and fashion. The Windrush Sunday theme runs across the entire festival site on Sunday 30 August, with special programming on all stages, a dedicated exhibition space, oral history recordings, and community conversations led by descendants of the Windrush generation. This is a day of celebration, remembrance, and gratitude. We honour those who came before us and the communities they built. All are welcome to participate, listen, and learn.
